The number of candidates with Engineering/Medical background vis-à-vis total candidates recommended by the UPSC for Civil Services Examination (CSE) in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are as given below:-

In so far as Civil Services Examination-2013 is concerned, the recommended candidates are received in two parts, i.e. Main List & Reserved List. The Reserved List is yet to be received from UPSC.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in Prime Minister’s office Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question by Prof. Ravindra Vishwanath Gaikwad in the Lok Sabha today.
