My experience with prelims exam:
As soon as we were distributed the question booklet of general studies I got some anxiety but ok I maintained my calmness . The faculty asked us not to open it unless directed . But due to excitement couldn't wait , I just turned the booklet and randomly saw a question which was based on question from aflatoxin production . Seeing this I really got happy as it was my core area question from biology . I was really excited and happy thinking my prelims is now clear 😝
Now the bell rang and we started our paper !!! Initial questions were from polity and medieval history which were really tricky . So I thought it's ok , I can go through these questions at last . Then again I saw questions from biology and lessons learnt in geography . I was very happy to solve them . Then it was polity and modern history which I was able to solve .
Later on I faced several questions from geography , art and culture etc which I could not solve . I just thought that these questions if for me would be tough then for others too. In this way I continued with my positivity .
I solved the questions which I was sure and then solved those for which I had some doubt . Also in some questions I took guess and I guess 50% of them went wrong also.
Lessons learnt :
1. Just have confidence and start your paper with positivity .
2. Solve those which you are sure about or 80% sure.
3. Then go through those for which little or 50% doubt is there .
4. Don't go into more of guess work .
5. If you feel the level is tough then of course it's tough for other's too.
6. Please fill the OMR properly as it is the real indication of your marks.
7. Don't be nervous and extra excited too.
8. If paper is easy then it's easy for all , so accordingly go through.
9. Generally in GS one completes the paper in around 60-80minutes so after that just close the paper and take rest . What happens is we apply more of our brains in the last minute to attempt more questions and then get more of negative .
Questions generally attempted at last gives negative marks . We tend to convince our brain that the answer is correct but it doesn't turn out to be like that .
10. Don't try to discuss much with your peers as it may tend to induce negativity . If you want to match your answers ,take keys from 3 to 4 sources and then match .
11. Confidence, positivity and smile is what is needed .
Rest is all yours!!!
