Friends, General studies paper was a bit unconventional. We took a sample of few students who wrote last year and got qualified to write Mains. In the sample, some got Group A services like IRS. Invariably for everyone, their marks have come down between 15 to 20 marks this year when compared to last year. (Say a person who scored 120 marks last year is getting only 100 to 105 marks this year). The vacancies are around 200 less when compared to last year and the intake for mains can be less. So we have taken that also into consideration.
Last year General category cut off was 105 marks.
Considering both facts of paper unconventional and vacancies less by 200 this year, Cut off for General Category this year is expected to be 95 marks( plus or minus 2 marks). Cut off for OBC / SC/ ST and PH candidates can be deduced based on General Category.
